About us

Who we are and what we do for the village.

Tattisar Group Seva Sahakari Sangha Niyamitha was established in 1959 with the goal of self-reliance among the farmers of Melinaonikeri and surrounding villages in Sirsi taluk. Today, the society is one of the most recognised cooperative institutions in the region, honoured with 23 consecutive years of Apex Bank awards and 32 consecutive years of District Co-operative Bank awards. It was also awarded the National-level "Subhas Yadav Prize" in 2000-01 and the State-level "Best Co-operative Society" award in 2007. The society serves over 1,100 share members, offering credit facilities, agricultural produce marketing, deposit and savings schemes, and a range of essential services including areca dehusking, oil and flour milling, secure storage, and equipment rentals — all aimed at supporting the farming community's daily needs.

Areca Nut Shell Remover

Areca Nut Shell Remover

  • Manual peeling of dried areca nut to remove the outer shell and get clean, market-ready kernel (chali/supari). Available for both white variety (sun-dried, fully ripe nut) and red variety (boiled tender nut). Peeling is done carefully by hand using a sharp knife to avoid damaging the kernel, followed by sorting according to size and quality. Suitable for small and bulk quantities. Bring your dried or boiled nuts to the society office, or request pickup for larger loads.
Coconut Shell Remover

Coconut Shell Remover

  • Manual dehusking of coconuts using traditional tools to separate the fibrous outer husk from the shell. Suitable for both tender and mature coconuts. Bring your coconuts to the society, or request pickup for bulk quantities. Husk is separated cleanly and can be collected separately if needed for coir or other uses.

Flour mill

  • Grinding of rice, wheat, ragi, and other grains into fresh flour. Bring your own grain — cleaned and dried. Turnaround is usually same-day for small quantities. Custom coarseness available for rice flour (idli/dosa batter grind) on request.
Oil extraction machine

Oil extraction machine

  • Extraction of pure coconut oil from dried coconut (copra) using mechanical presses. Customers must provide well-dried copra. The service extracts the oil and separates the oil cake (punak) for the customer. Ensure copra is fully sun-dried for maximum oil yield.

    • Operating commercial agricultural dryers to safely reduce moisture levels in harvested crops, such as areca nut, copra, and spices. This service ensures produce is dried evenly and efficiently, regardless of weather conditions, preparing it for long-term safe storage or further processing.
    Pepper Threshing Machine

    Pepper Threshing Machine

    • Mechanized threshing of freshly harvested black pepper to efficiently separate the pepper berries from the stalks and stems. This machine service significantly reduces manual labor and saves time while ensuring minimal damage to the peppercorns. Bring your harvested pepper spikes to the society for quick and clean processing. Suitable for both small and large batches.

    Agricultural Shredding Machine

    • Operating heavy-duty shredding machines to efficiently break down agricultural waste, dry leaves, areca fronds, and small branches. This service converts bulky farm waste into fine, shredded material, making it ideal for fast composting, mulching, or easy disposal. It is a highly useful service for farm maintenance and preparing organic manure.

    • Operating specialized polishing machines to clean and finish dried white areca nuts (chali). This mechanical process removes dust, dirt, and dullness from the dehusked nuts, giving them a clean, shiny, and premium finish. Polishing significantly improves the overall grade, appearance, and market value of the yield, making it completely market-ready.

      • Agricultural loan facilities are provided to members to support farming and related activities. Flexible repayment options are available based on the loan amount and approved tenure.

      The society offers Fixed Deposits at an attractive interest rate of 8% per annum for a tenure of 10 years. Members can start a deposit with a minimum amount of just ₹1,000, making it accessible to everyone in the community. Interest is calculated annually and credited to the depositor's account, or can be reinvested to earn compound returns over the full term. This scheme is designed to help members build long-term savings with a safe and steady return. Deposits are backed by the society and offer a reliable way to grow your money over time. Premature withdrawal may be permitted in case of genuine need, subject to applicable terms and a reduced interest rate. Members are encouraged to consult the society office for full details before opening a deposit.
